New architecture contains some new interfaces (Sxa, Sxb) based on GTP; the new reference points introduced a new protocol (PFCP - Packet Forwarding Control Plane).

Following is the protocol stack used for new interfaces.

The UDP Destination Port number for a Request message shall be 8805 for Sx interface.

Different Procedures supported for the PFCP are as follows

  1. PFCP Session Establishment Procedure
  2. PFCP Session Modification Procedure
  3. PFCP Session Deletion Procedure

We will discuss in detail about all the above procedures
